Junya Watanabe’s Autumn/Winter 2014 collection was shown in a mansion on Avenue Foch, in London.
In this collection, he invested his time into understanding London’s punk scene in the 1970s, as well as the history of fashion present there.
For the first half of the show, models came down the runway wearing bowler hats and British tailoring, and slowly transitioned into quintessential punk fashion, with thrashed mohair sweaters with intentional holes and distressing, while music from the manchester native band Oasis played.
This sweater takes inspiration from Kurt Cobain’s famous red striped sweater that he wore during the 1993 New Music Seminar.
Perfect for halloween as well, if you are planning to go as Freddy Krueger.
